Innovative Cancer Institute

The Innovative Cancer Institute facility provides cutting edge treatment in radiation oncology to patients from around the globe. The 61,500-square-foot, four-story radiation and cancer treatment facility which includes clinical areas, offices, and a four-story, 49,975 square foot parking garage with 80 spaces.

The tight footprint of site was one of the biggest challenges of the project. Working alongside the architectural team, ANF Group was able to find the most economical solutions to achieve the code-required parking count while still providing the client with their desired usable square footage. ANF was also able to recommend materials and products to visually create open space in what ordinarily looks like a solid building. The modern design of the facility utilized a sleek, perforated aluminum skin to enhance the aesthetic quality of the building’s facade.

The Innovative Cancer Institute is located on the building’s first floor and features a new Varian Edge™ radiotherapy system, a first-of-its-kind technology in the state of Florida. The project features a Veritas radiation shielded treatment room designed to house a state-of-the-art linear accelerator. Located within the 15,520 square foot clinic expansion, the shielded room was constructed using stackable ultra-high density VeriShield blocks and will include a groundbreaking Veritas ShieldTech entry door and modular interior finishes.
