**Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Central Energy Plant** is a 15,500 SF, two-story central utility plant and one-story oxygen tank farm constructed to support the expansion and long-term operation of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. The facility provides critical infrastructure for the hospital campus, including chilled water, medium-pressure steam, emergency power, medical gases, natural gas, potable water, and electrical distribution systems that ensure continuous, reliable operation of one of South Florida’s premier pediatric healthcare facilities.

The project included the installation and commissioning of two 900-ton Trane centrifugal chillers, two Marley cooling towers rated at 5,400 GPM each, two Cleaver-Brooks firetube boilers with dual-fuel capabilities, four 12,000-gallon underground diesel fuel storage tanks, comprehensive natural gas infrastructure, Russ Electric switchgear, automatic transfer switches, and two 1,500 kW emergency generators. Electrical service was provided through dual 13.2 kV utility feeds stepped down to a 4,000-amp, 480-volt distribution system, ensuring uninterrupted power to normal, critical, life safety, and essential hospital systems. Advanced 3D modeling was utilized to coordinate all new underground utilities with the existing campus infrastructure, allowing the seamless integration of complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems while maintaining uninterrupted hospital operations.
