NSU CCR Groundbreaking

On what started out to be a rainy Thursday morning, Nova Southeastern University celebrated the groundbreaking of their new $80 million research facility the Center for Collaborative Research.

Nova Southeastern University, ANF Group & ACAI Associates who were all on hand at the celebration are teaming up to build this 215,000-square-foot CCR Facility near the Health Professions Division parking garage on its main campus in Davie, Florida.

The Center for Collaborative Research (CCR) will include over 60,000 square feet of wet labs.  These lab floors will allow for private biotech and life science companies to lease space.  In addition the U.S. Geological Survey’s Everglades preservation team, will occupy the entire first floor of the CCR.  This facility will also house NSU’s first supercomputer, nicknamed “Meglodon” after the largest prehistoric shark; keeping with the school’s shark mascot. Donated by Houston-based Centaurus Energy, this supercomputer an IBM P6 will allow NSU researchers and students to create complex data models and program advanced code in-house instead of outsourcing it to other universities.

ANF Group has completed many projects for NSU and looks forward to completing this project as always on time and on budget!

“We feel that we acquired the best team for this project!” said Al Fernandez, ANF Group, Inc. President.  Starting with the amazing staff at NSU, great design team architects at ACAI Associates and our subcontractor partners: Right Way Plumbing Company, JD Backhoe, C Davis Electric, JGR Construction, Hill York, Crawford Tracey and Summers Fire.
